Sudeley Castle
Sudeley Castle in the Cotswold village of Winchcombe near Cheltenham, provides a romantic backdrop for the first BCO summer concert in this stunningly lovely setting that's unsurpassed for an atmosphere of British history and tradition.
With royal connections spanning a thousand years, Sudeley has played host to Kings and Queens of England and was once the home to Katherine Parr, last surviving wife of Henry VIII. Lady Jane Grey, who became Queen of England for just 10 days, resided here.
Full directions to Sudeley Castle and event timings and information are included with your tickets.
For your own comfort please remember that although it is summer,
the evenings can get quite chilly. So we recommend that you bring a blanket or
coat to keep out the evening cold.

Summer Magic Proms 2007
Well, the weather did it's best but it didn't beat us. The Sudeley Castle
Proms went ahead as planned. (Well almost, with a slight alteration of the the
stage and car park locations).
At the start of the evening "The BBMF" provided a
fantastic flying display of around fifteen minutes to the great delight of the crowd,
then at the end, a spectacular firework display. (once again, a slight change in
position from the original plan).
I don't know if it was the sight of the BBMF
that prompted that old British spirit of "we will not be beaten" but just about
all of the concert goers appeared to have the attitude of "I am going to enjoy
tonight, never mind the weather (which of course was fine on the night)", but
the atmosphere was great and I think just about everyone enjoyed a superb
evening at the Proms.
We at Summer Magic Proms would love to hear your views on the evening. So if
you wouldn't mind taking just a few minutes and go to:-
http://www.promsnight.com/feedback and let us know what you thought.
From the feedback I have received so far, it appears to have been popular.
Unfortunately the weather over the previous weeks did cause a few problems,
there were some food concessions (and the bar) who had to cancel. There
were one or two comments about noisy children, we do (I'm afraid) have to rely
on the parents to keep them under control. For some reason, at Sudeley we seem
to have about twice the number of children attending than any other venue.
(There must be something in the water in Gloucestershire).
